Bury in Red
Bury FC Women Vets looking stylish in their new kits sponsored and provided by our Ballon Sports Agency www.ballonsportsagency.com in conjunction with @kappa_teamwear.
“Bury Women is a brand new recreational and walking football group, set up for ladies looking to return to the game or those who want to get fit and try something new!
The Group was established by Casey Lynchey, a primary school teacher, who has coached grassroots football for a number of years. She was recently involved in ‘EduFooty Aid,’ a charity football match raising money and awareness for Mind Charity, aided by teachers from across the UK. Taking part in this event inspired her to want to play more and set something up. When she recruited a few friends, local teachers and parents of children in her previous football teams, something quite large was quickly established.
In just a few weeks the Club has grown considerably and there are now over 30 women signed up and they meet twice a week. Sessions involve soccercise (a fitness class with a ball, to music), football and walking football. The main emphasis is on fitness, having fun and meeting new people. They have a wide range of different ages and abilities, with members aged from 19 to 57, some with previous playing experience and some absolute beginners. They are hoping to take part in different tournaments and friendly matches as they progress.”
Ballon agreed to become main sponsor after an appeal by friend and England Boxing Director, Liz Norris, mentioned that they were looking for local businesses to provide sponsorship for them to buy kits and equipment.
